As part of the nationwide transition to digital television (DTV) the FCC has reallocated the frequency range from 698 MHz to 806 MHz (the 700 MHz range). The FCC then sold the 700 MHz range to a handful of corporations (AT&T, Verizon, Qualcomm, etc.) for new product development. As these new products are developed for use in the 700 MHz range, it will become increasingly difficult to reliably operate wireless mic systems in the same range. To this end, both Sennheiser and Shure are offering rebates for purchasing new equipment and returning any wireless equipment you may have in the 700 MHz range. If you or your organization has purchased wireless equipment in the affected range,we will be happy to explain the rebate options available to you. This information is not meant to alarm you, but instead make you aware of the wireless equipment issues you may soon experience. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
