The Sweetheart Ball, Sonoma County’s finest and most fun, formal dinner dance is an event put on by the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County. Sound Expressions provided audio production services throughout the event space including the band stage featuring Wonderbread Five and the auction area. The audio system consisted of JBL Powered Vertec 4888's over JBL SRX728's at the band stage. A Soundcraft Vi4 provided front of house and monitor duties as well as handling the auction system consisting of clusters of flown JBL 4892's.
The annual Kendall-Jackson Heirloom Tomato Festival is a late summer highlight for us. We provide multiple systems for education tents, the chef's challenge stage, music stage, and a park wide announcement system. We enjoyed working with Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums and Laughing Gravy. JBL Eon 15G2s and Sennheiser wireless lavs were used for the chef's demo and education tents. JBL Vertec and a Soundcraft Vi4 took care of the band stage. We employed JBL 4892s on Genie Towers throughout the park delayed to the band stage for the announcement system.
The V Foundation for Cancer Research is an amazing organization founded by famous basketball coach Jimmy Valvano and ESPN. Over the years the V Foundation has raised over $80 million dollars for cancer research. We provide audio production services for the V Foundation's annual Wine Celebration. The event, set outdoors amongst the Napa Valley vineyards, consists of an auction and concert by artists such as Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, and Hall & Oates.
The Singing Christmas Tree is a community event that involves over 200 community volunteers. This event includes a 70 voice choir, a 60 piece orchestra, plus soloists and drama skits. It is an involved show for us but we look forward to the challenge. We ran 52 inputs and 10 outputs from a Soundcraft MH4 console. Our outboard gear included pieces from t.c. electronic, Presonus, Denon, Shure, and Sennheiser.
Each year, Emeril Lagasse spends a week at Fetzer Vineyards in Hopland, California. He gives cooking demonstrations and raises money through an auction for his charity. It was a great event! We had many small sound systems in different areas of the property. The main event, his cooking demonstration, included gear from Soundcraft, Sennheiser, AB, BSS, JBL, Presonus, and Denon. Pictured is Jeremy Davenport, the featured entertainer of the evening. (That's Emeril sittin' in with the band!)
Sonoma Country Day School presents an impressive gala each year as a major fundraising event for the school. This past year, we supplied JBL Vertec 4888DP-ANs and JBL SRX728S subs powered by Crown I-Tech 6000s. A Soundcraft Vi4 digital console took care of both FOH and monitors. We supplied the auctioneer with a Shure UHF-R transmitter fitted with a Countryman Isomax headsest. The event was a success as always and we look forward to what this event will bring next year.
